The key to success in the management of autism is early intervention and this is only possible when there is public awareness as well as the capability for early detection. The Minister of Health emphasised the matter during the Opening of the Autism Awareness Conference 2025 held at the Ministry of Health. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar further explained that the Child Development Centre, CDC, is increasing its efforts in raising autism awareness by being actively involved in providing training to other healthcare professionals, other government agencies and the public through various platforms. This is to enable people to recognise autism, as some of the features may be subtle and each person's presentation may differ greatly from one person to another.

Hosted by Smarter Brunei and fully sponsored by Mitsubishi Corporation, this year's conference carried the theme “Highlighting Programmes and Support Services in Brunei". The one-day conference featured a keynote address that sets the tone for discussions on autism support, inclusion, and collaborative development. The conference also included an exhibition.
